Migration Minister Johan Forssell wants to modernize advertising requirements for labor immigration

SVT Norrbotten has previously reported that Zaib Ansari and Rahat Shakeel are to be deported to Pakistan despite a crying need for staff among the pharmacies in Kiruna.

It all started when Zaib Ansari responded to a job ad for a position that had been vacant for two years. However, the Swedish Migration Agency believes that she got the job before the advertisement had been posted at the Employment Agency for at least ten days, so that everyone in the EU will have the first chance to apply for the job.

"It's unreasonable"

Migration Minister Johan Forssell (M) visited Kiruna on Monday and announced that the party wants to modernize the advertising requirement for recruitment outside the EU. They believe that the directive from 2008 is outdated and risks affecting both employers and employees.

- A great many jobs today are not advertised through the Employment Service, but through other platforms, and then it just feels bureaucratic and rigid to keep this requirement, says Forssell.
