Billions did not bring victory. The largest donors supported Republicans

The largest individual donor in this year's elections was Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX, Tesla and This is the highest amount among all supporters.

Right behind him were Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein, packaging and warehousing tycoons, who donated $150 million to Republican campaigns. Jeff Yass, co-founder of trading firm Susquehanna International Group, and his wife Janine came next, donating $110 million.

Democrats with much less support

Only fourth on the list of the largest donors was George Soros, a well-known investor and philanthropist who supported the Democratic Party with the amount of $102 million.

Other donors who donated significant funds to the campaign included: Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen from Andreessen Horowitz ($92 million), Mike Bloomberg - founder of the Bloomberg agency and former mayor of New York ($84 million), philanthropist Miriam Adelson ($68 million), brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss from the venture capital company Winklevoss Capital ($56 million), Paul Singer, co-founder of the investment fund Elliott Management ($54 million) and Greg Brockman - co-founder of OpenAI - with his wife Anna ($50 million).

Except for Bloomberg, everyone else supported the Republican Party candidates.

Republicans are losing their majority in Congress

Despite record financial support, the Republican Party lost its majority in both houses of Congress to the Democrats. Additionally, Republicans lost five state governorships.

Although votes are still being counted in some states, the Democrats' advantage cannot be overtaken.
