National wrestler Şevval Çayır became second in the world

Şevval Çayır, representing Türkiye in the women's 53 kg category at the World Under-23 Wrestling Championship, received the silver medal.

According to the statement of the Turkish Wrestling Federation, Şevval Çayır competed in the final of the organization in Las Vegas, USA.

Şevval, who made an effective start to the championship, defeated Canadian Serena Rosa Benedetto in the first round and Mexican Sofia Gonzalez in the quarter-finals with a 10-0 technical advantage.

The national wrestler defeated Mediterranean Games runner-up Spanish Carla Jaume Soler by pinfall in the semi-finals. Şevval Çayır, who lost to American Cristelle Noelle Rodriguez Dobler in the final, completed the organization with a silver medal.

On the other hand, men's freestyle competitions also started in the championship. Competing in the freestyle 86 kilo category, national wrestler Ahmet Yağan defeated his opponents and reached the final.
