Giant robbery worth millions of euros: 30 thousand bottles were stolen!

It was reported that 30 thousand bottles of wine worth approximately 5 million euros were stolen by thieves from the famous Marchesi Antinori winery in the Tuscany region of Italy.

"As far as we know, such a major robbery has never occurred in Italy before," a company representative told AFP.

The stolen wines were Tignanello, Solaia and Guado al Tasso, some of the company's red wines. Selling prices for these wines range from 120 to 300 euros or more, depending on their year. The company representative stated that these are the most iconic brands and added that they are also very valuable for their collectors.

The theft occurred last weekend at a warehouse in central Italy containing valuable wines prepared for export. The company representative said that this is the largest warehouse and all bottles are placed here before shipment. It was learned that the thieves had disabled the alarm in the incident, which was noticed on Monday.

Two vans were used for the robbery and the company believes five or six people were involved.

Last month, 3,000 bottles of Barolo wine were stolen in the northern Piedmont region. The total value of the wines is estimated at several hundred thousand euros.
