Woman arrested in Itapeva for illegally selling weight loss pills

A resident of Itapeva (SP) was arrested red-handed this Tuesday morning (8), suspected of selling weight loss medication irregularly via social media.

According to the Civil Police, the medicines originate from Paraguay and each ampoule costs around R$300. The investigations began after complaints indicating that the woman was selling the products irregularly.

Civil police carried out surveys that confirmed the irregularities. With the information gathered, the Court authorized search and seizure warrants at the address of the person being investigated.

According to the corporation, during the action 15 ampoules of tirzepatide, a substance used in weight loss medications, were found, as well as three boxes of testosterone and notes on the marketing of the products.

According to the Civil Police, the woman was arrested for forgery, corruption, adulteration or alteration of a product intended for therapeutic or medicinal purposes. The medicines, notes and other elements were seized and sent to forensics.
