Woman found dead with cable around her neck in São Paulo; police investigate suicide or homicide

According to delegate Victor Nobre, from the Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DHPP), the woman presented stiffness, indicating that the death had occurred between eight and 12 hours before the body was located.

The victim was found lying down, with a cable wrapped around his neck. According to the police chief, the way the body was located initially raised the possibility of suicide, but the police are also considering the possibility of homicide.

"She had a noose around her neck with a wire, a cable. So it was a suicide that was not a total suspension, she lay down and the cable was wrapped around her neck. But we are investigating to see if it was not a case of homicide", said the police chief.

According to the delegate, some elements found at the scene were considered suspicious and will be analyzed during the investigation. Forensics were called to examine the scene and determine the cause of death.

The case will be investigated by the Civil Police. Until the conclusion of the expertise and investigations, there is no confirmation as to whether the death was caused by suicide or by someone else's actions.
