NH Investment & Securities signs CORSIA emissions cooperation MOU with Trinity Airlines

NH Investment & Securities [005940] announced on the 28th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Trinity Airlines [091810] on the 21st for 'Mutual Cooperation on the International Aviation Carbon Offset and Reduction System (CORSIA) and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading System'.

NH Investment & Securities reported that this is the first time that a domestic securities firm and an airline have entered into a strategic partnership encompassing the supply of CORSIA emission permits and consignment trading of domestic greenhouse gas emissions permits.

Previously, NH Investment & Securities received Korea's first emissions trading brokerage license in November last year, and many companies subject to allocation are currently participating in the emissions trading system through NH Investment & Securities' consignment trading service.

According to this agreement, Trinity Airlines plans to first procure 20,000 tons of CORSIA emissions credits through NH Investment & Securities and gradually secure more than 10% of the amount of emissions credits that need to be offset by the end of the year ahead of the first phase settlement deadline of January 2028.

Starting with this, the two companies agreed to cooperate in the supply of CORSIA emissions credits and to strengthen the mid- to long-term procurement base by sharing related information such as expected obligatory quantity and procurement timing.

NH Investment & Securities plans to support Trinity Airlines' smooth carbon emissions trading through its own emissions trading system and provide professional information such as market analysis and policy trends.

We will also cooperate in establishing and operating the domestic greenhouse gas emissions market (K-ETS) consignment trading system.

Park Geon-hoo, head of NH Investment & Securities' Client Solutions Division, said, "This agreement is meaningful as a strategic cooperation model that connects the carbon finance expertise of securities companies with the actual demand for emissions rights of airlines."
