Metin Menzilciler, who lost his son in the traffic accident that occurred in Niğde on November 9, 2025 and killed 2 young people, reacted to the penalty given to the unlicensed driver.

The accident occurred on the Niğde-Yeni Çiftlik road. The car, whose driver lost control of the steering wheel, rolled over and fell into the ditch. 16-year-old Mustafa Menzilciler and Ahmet Bingöl, who were in the vehicle, lost their lives and the driver was seriously injured.

Mustafa Menzilciler's father, Metin Menzilciler, stated that the person driving the car was 17 years old and had no driver's license at the time of the accident, and argued that the prison sentence of 3 years and 8 months given as a result of the trial was insufficient.

Stating that the file is at the appeal stage, Menzilciler stated that they will follow the legal process and called for justice.

Menzilciler claimed that the trial process regarding the accident was concluded in a short time; "Three friends are getting into the car. They are entering the corner at high speed. My son Mustafa Menzilciler was 16 years old, our other child Ahmet Bingöl was 17 years old. Our two young children died in the accident," he said. Menzilciler stated that the trial process had started in the file prepared after the accident; He said that the 17-year-old driver was given a discount due to his youth and was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in prison. Stating that they were not satisfied with the decision, Menzilciler claimed that the driver was not arrested and never went to prison. Range men; "The trial phase was started, the file was prepared. There were 10 days between the first court and the second court. The 17-year-old driver was given a sentence of 3 years and 8 months, with a discount on the reason that he was a child. This person did not go to prison even for a day. We do not want anyone's children, children, mothers or fathers to be hurt, but if there is a crime, there must be a reward for it. If justice gives low sentences to the criminal, it will invite other crimes. We are only in search of justice." spoke. Menzilciler stated that the penalty was reduced due to the driver's young age; "There is a crime here. Since he was 17 years old, he was called a child and a reduced sentence was applied. So, wasn't he a child when he got into the car? Is he a child before the judiciary? It happened to my child today, it could happen to someone else's child tomorrow," he said.

According to the Menzilciler, the driver; In his first statement at the prosecutor's office, he said that he was not driving the car, but Ahmet Bingöl, who died in the accident, was driving.

Menzilciler claimed that the defendant later did not accept this statement in court and said that he was driving the vehicle.

Menzilciler, who referred to his son's grave as his 'home'; "I have been here day and night for months. I cannot call this place a grave, this is his home now. His mother's condition is not good, his siblings' condition is not good. We live in pain. We think that we were not given enough right to speak in court. The file was decided in a short time. A sentence of 3 years and 8 months was given and the file was sent to appeal. Our file is currently in appeal," he said.

Metin Menzilciler, who wants the judicial process to be concluded fairly so that similar events do not hurt other families, said that their only demand is justice.
