In the early hours of Thursday, the Kuwaiti army announced on X that it was facing "hostile missile and drone attacks following the despicable Iranian aggression." “In response to the crimes committed by America against the Iranian people, missile and drone attacks are underway against American bases in Kuwait,” Iranian state television confirmed shortly after on the same social network.
History repeats itself. After a month of calm, hostilities resumed on Sunday in a scenario that has been repeated since the start of the war launched at the end of February and still without diplomatic outcome. The American army carried out two waves of strikes on Sunday and Tuesday evening, targeting respectively an attempt to undermine the Strait of Hormuz and then the installations of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, in particular radar and anti-aircraft defense sites.
A dead end for Donald Trump? The American president is struggling to find a solution to this very unpopular conflict in the United States, where the mid-term elections are being held in November, and very costly for the American budget. Before this summer's lull, the Democratic opposition claimed that the fighting had dried up American munitions stocks, which the administration refutes.

The US military carried out two waves of strikes on Sunday and Tuesday evening, and said it targeted an attempt to mine the Strait of Hormuz and then Iranian Revolutionary Guard installations. The second left a total of 19 dead, including seven members of the armed forces but also civilians. Four people were killed during a wedding in Sirik district, where nearly 70 people were injured, according to Iranian media.
