Przemysław Makarewicz, forecaster of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, informed that according to the forecast, Friday will be sunny. Maximum temperature from 24 degrees in the east and in the Hel area, about 26 in the center and north to 31 in the west. The wind will be weak from the east, the expert said.

Saturday is expected to be even warmer. In the west of the country, thermometers will show up to 35 degrees. It will be the coldest in the north-east - up to 26 degrees. In the center, in the south and in places in the north of the country, the maximum temperature is forecast at 30-32 degrees.

The night from Saturday to Sunday will bring a change in the weather. There will be showers and thunderstorms in the north-west and west of the country, Makarewicz warned. On Sunday, it may rain and thunder in most voivodeships. In some places, the storms will be violent, with heavy rain, strong wind gusts and locally hail, the forecaster said.

On Sunday, the warmest temperature will be in the south-east - up to 33 degrees, and the coldest at the seaside - around 20 degrees. In the center of the country, the maximum temperature is forecast at 27-29 degrees.

Two types of heat warnings

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued two types of heat warnings. Alerts cover most voivodeships - exceptions include, among others: Podlasie, Warmia and Mazury, as well as several counties in the southeast. The vast majority of warnings are yellow, which means the first of three levels. They apply to Saturdays - from noon to late evening. Depending on the voivodeship, the maximum temperature in this area may be 32-35 degrees.

Level II heat warnings include: Opole Voivodeship, Silesia Voivodeship, most of Lesser Poland and Podkarpacie, as well as the Voivodeship Świętokrzyskie and some counties in the Łódź region. They also cover the period from Saturday noon to late evening. Maximum daytime temperature from 30°C to 34°C. Minimum temperature at night from 17°C to 20°C - forecasters warn.

It will be cooler after the weekend

Those who love the heat should take advantage of the weekend weather, because the start of the new week will be cooler. IMWM maps show that on Monday the thermometer will range from 19 to 24 degrees, and in most voivodeships umbrellas will come in handy. Tuesday will look very similar. We can expect temperatures above 30 degrees to return only in the second half of next week.
