NEW Party Chairman Özgür Özel addressed the members before the first ordinary congress of his party and made a statement about the presidential primary election and the new term goals. Özel said the following in his statement:
"My dear companions, dear NEW Party members, we are going to the first congress of our NEW Party, whose establishment instructions were given by the nation itself, named by the nation, and whose budget was created by the nation. It has not been easy for any of us to come to this day. We fought side by side in the squares. We faced injustice, attacks, and conspiracies together. But we did not surrender even in the most difficult times. We never lost hope. We did not establish the NEW Party to have a party. It was old, rotten, obsolete. We established it to leave politics behind, to open a clean slate for Türkiye, to solve the problems of our nation. That's why we started the democratic change from ourselves. First, all our members elected our district presidents. Then, we established a new democratic system in which all members have the say, the decision and the authority.
Now it's time for the presidential election. A new democracy festival will be held in 81 provinces on Sunday, November 8. Ballot boxes will be set up in our provincial and district headquarters. As of this hour, everyone who is a member of our party will be able to vote in Sunday's primary election. With the trust of our members, I am entering this primary election as a candidate. We will hold our first ordinary congress on 14-15 November. This congress is the first congress of the new generation politics. Our political establishment will be completed with our congress. As a candidate for chairman, I compiled my commitments for the new term into a work program. We will make this program accessible to all our citizens on our website. Our 17-page program will be delivered to you via SMS or WhatsApp.
"POLITICS IS RENEWING WITH THE NEW PARTY"
Our program consists of 17 pages and 17 main headings. In this program, we are strengthening our members' right to say, decide and control in the new period. We will strengthen our coverage and consultation mechanisms with neighborhood, district and provincial councils and digital participation. We will create more space for women and young people in politics. We will train new, qualified staff with our political academy. With the understanding of the Türkiye Alliance, we will open the doors of our party wide to our nation and we will prepare the ruling program of the new order together in this period. We will be accountable for all these commitments to our members with transparency. Because we will not just change the government at the end of the struggle. We will also change the way politics is done. We will present the new understanding of politics to our nation.
Now, I invite all our members to the ballot boxes that will be set up in all our districts and provinces on Sunday, November 8. Let's take the first big step of the new generation of politics together. Let's establish a new order together, where no one is dependent on anyone else and no one is considered superior to anyone else. Let's make our state just and strong, and our nation free and prosperous. Politics is being renewed with the NEW Party. Türkiye is being renewed with the word, power and courage of the nation.
