Father of 4-year-old girl shot to death leaves hospital before medical discharge in the interior of SP

Breno Ramalho da Fonseca Lippa, 20 years old, father of the girl Elisa Sophia Ramalho Lippa, 4 years old, who died after being shot in a shooting attack in Araras (SP), left Santa Casa on Thursday night (22), before being medically discharged and against the recommendation of health professionals.

Breno was also hit by gunfire and was hospitalized in serious condition. According to Santa Casa, he presented entry and exit perforations from the projectiles, with a suspected gunshot wound to the chest and another to the wrist.

According to delegate Tabajara Zuliani dos Santos, responsible for the investigation, Breno woke up from sedation and expressed his desire to leave the hospital. A Civil Police team was waiting at the scene and managed to collect his statement before he left.

According to the delegate, the testimony contributed little to clarifying the case. The investigation continues, but details are being kept confidential.

The case was registered as homicide against a minor, attempted homicide, seizure of narcotics and location and seizure of a vehicle.

In a statement, Santa Casa reported that Breno repeatedly expressed, during Thursday, his desire to leave the institution. Faced with the situation, psychology and social assistance teams were called, as well as family members.

The medical team informed the patient and family about the risks of interrupting treatment and leaving the hospital before discharge. Even so, Breno insisted that, as he was of legal age, he had the right to decide whether to stay.

On Thursday night, after receiving a visit from his mother, he left the unit. The departure was confirmed by the hospital, which immediately reported the fact to the police.

According to delegate Tabajara, there are no efforts to locate Breno at this time. He stressed that the man is not at large and that there is no warrant for his arrest.

The delegate also reinforced that Breno is considered a victim in the case. The Civil Police continue to investigate the attack that killed the 4-year-old girl and left her father injured.

Breno has already been extubated and has been conscious since Thursday (22), but remained under medical care at the Intensive Therapy Center (CTI), at Santa Casa.

The Civil Police are investigating the motivation for the crime. Until the last update of this report, no one had been arrested.

The attack took place on Monday (19), around 11pm, on Avenida Augusta Viola da Costa, in Jardim Costa Verde. According to the police report, the father was in a car with his daughter when the two were surprised by two suspects on a motorcycle. The criminals shot several times at the vehicle.

Both victims were hit. The girl, identified as Elisa Sophia Ramalho Lippa, was rescued, but did not survive her injuries. The father was taken to Santa Casa de Araras, where he remained hospitalized in serious condition and intubated.

The Scientific Police carried out an investigation at the scene, where projectiles and detonated capsules were collected.
