In his written statement, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu gave information about the works carried out on the route starting from the Pazar-Ardeşen junction of the Black Sea coastal road, passing through Çamlıhemşin district center and reaching Ayder.
Stating that the completed Çamlıhemşin Tunnel and Fırtına Creek and Hala Creek-1 bridges section of the Pazar-Ardeşen junction-Çamlıhemşin-Ayder provincial road project, which is 36.5 kilometers long, will be put into service on Monday, August 17, Uraloğlu pointed out that the road is an important route for regional tourism.
Uraloğlu pointed out that Ayder Plateau hosts many visitors every year and that the traffic density on the route has increased with the development of winter and plateau tourism.
Expressing that they increased the capacity of the existing road by adding lanes and providing faster, safer and more comfortable transportation to the citizens, Uraloğlu stated that within the scope of the project, the first 5.5 kilometers were built as a 4-lane divided road standard with bituminous hot mixture coating, and the following sections were built with a platform width of 12 meters and climbing lanes.
Uraloğlu gave information that there are 3 single tube tunnels with a length of 3,670 meters on the route, including the 955-meter-long Çamlıhemşin, 2,265-meter Hala and 450-meter Hala-2 tunnels, and in this section, there are also the 50-meter Akkaya and 40-meter Şenyamaç, 135-meter Fırtına Creek, 90-meter Hala Creek-1 and 30-meter Hala Creek-2 bridges.
