An excavation truck whose brakes failed entered the workplace in Pendik: 1 injured

The accident occurred at around 15.50 in Kurtköy District Rabia Street. According to the information obtained, the brake of the excavation truck taking soil from the construction site failed while it was driving. The truck driver, who lost control of the steering wheel, jumped out of the vehicle before the accident. The excavation truck was able to stop by entering the workplace at the entrance of the 6-storey building at the end of the street. The workplace and a room of the flat next to it were damaged in the accident. Upon notice, fire brigade, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Police teams took security measures on the street. After the first intervention of the medical teams, the injured truck driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police teams launched an investigation into the accident.

Building manager Muhammet Ayyıldız said, "The excavation truck's brakes burst and it hit the building. I was at home, eating. Suddenly we heard a sound, a noise. We went downstairs. The excavation truck entered the building when its brakes burst. This is what happened, as you can see. The truck driver jumped while the truck was sliding. His leg was broken. He was taken to the hospital."
