Pensions are shaping up to be one of the hot topics of the next budget law. While the engines are warming up for the definition of the proposals, in fact, that of leaving work still holds sway today. Which was immediately rejected by the CGIL which calculated that leaving at 64 with recalculation with the contributory system would reduce the allowance by more than 10%. Furthermore, the last maneuver of the legislature is receiving particular attention not only from the social partners but also from the various components of the majority as the last cornerstone of identity before returning to the vote.
Forza Italia, taking up one of the projects dear to the founder Berlusconi, seems to want to favor the increase in minimum pensions, the League, as is known, to allow an early retirement to 64 years with a contributory recalculation of the allowance for those who fall under the mixed system, or who started working before 1996. This is a potential audience that has not yet been quantified and a project that in reality still needs to be defined in detail. The opportunity to get to know him could be the 'pre-Pontida' meeting of the League scheduled for tomorrow and the day after in Rome at the Officine Farneto after a first announcement on the Northern League's intentions made in Rimini by the undersecretary of labour, Claudio Durigon. The intention of the party led by Matteo Salvini would also be to block the extra month that starts from January for the old age pension (67 years + one month).
However, the proposal is again rejected, as it has been in the past, by the CGIL, which reiterates that the possible possibility of accessing retirement at 64 "would be accompanied by the recalculation of the entire pension with the contributory system". In the Collettiva newsletter, the union's simulations show that with 40 years of contributions and an annual salary of 35 thousand euros, the pension calculated with the mixed system would be around 1,726 euros per month; with the recalculation of contributions it would drop to around 1,543 euros: over 182 euros less each month, "equal to a reduction of 10.6%". With a salary of 50 thousand euros the loss would rise to 261 euros per month, and with 70 thousand euros to over 365 euros per month. The CGIL also says it is against the idea of using severance pay to partially allow this early exit: "A proposal already put forward last year and which for the CGIL is wrong and, if the numbers prove it, downright crazy."
For the union "it does not really expand the flexibility of the social security system, but passes the entire cost of the advance onto workers, who in order to retire earlier would have to accept a lower allowance for their entire lives and, in some cases, also use their severance pay to reach the required threshold". The M5S senator and vice-president of the Senate, Mariolina Castellone, is also against this latest proposal. "We reject out of hand the proposal of Durigon and the League to use severance pay to allow retirement at 64 - says the parliamentarian - especially at a time when pensions and salaries are already under pressure". There are actually no figures yet on the coverage and the possible modalities of the early retirement proposal, on a voluntary basis. Also in Rimini, in response to Durigon, the president of the INPS, the body that pays the allowances, Gabriele Fava limited himself to underlining how "what the legislator tells us, we will try to implement in a workmanlike manner, as we have always done". "We are very respectful of the legislator's indication."
