Digos Padua searches in view of the student march, 14 measures

The Digos of the Padua police headquarters this morning carried out eight searches delegated by the Prosecutor's Office for incitement to crime. In fact, on the eve of the student mobilization with procession scheduled for tomorrow, investigators believe that violent actions were being planned, instigating to set fire to bins, wearing balaclavas, dressing in black and misrepresented, carrying a gun, firecrackers, smoke bombs and attacking the police station and looting a shop in the historic center.

In view of the national student mobilization, the Digos carried out preventive investigations on the demonstration which includes a procession along the streets of the city centre. What emerged was the creation of a "whatsapp" group by some young people and students which, in a short time, reached the maximum number of participants of 1,025 which then led to the creation of a "community" called "16/10". Within the chats, several participants expressed their intention to carry out violent actions and disorder during the procession with the invitation to the chat participants to bring firecrackers and smoke bombs, bring lighters to set fire to bins or anything else, wear balaclavas and even carry a gun. During the searches, it was ascertained that the telephone numbers of the cell phones used to incite violence on the chat, with the SIM cards registered to adult family members, were actually in use and used by minors, students aged between 15 and 17, with the Digos police officers who proceeded to seize the telephones, and also to find and seize a balaclava and a stinging spray can. The police commissioner Marco Odorisio activated the Anti-Crime Police Division and ordered personal prevention measures from Dacur, Daspo, oral warnings and warnings, against 14 young people, participants in various capacities in the "community", among the eight reported and another six summoned to the police station with their parents.
