The Federal Police denied this Friday (9) that the former owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, had given a statement or handed over documents in his attempted plea bargain regarding alleged financing of the documentary "Lula", by director Oliver Stone, about the president's life.
Members of the PGR (Attorney General's Office) also deny that there is an annex that deals with this topic, as does Daniel Vorcaro's defense.
Veja magazine published this Friday that the former banker said, in audio, that he had financed Stone's film. According to the report, the material would have been attached to his plea bargain proposal, which the PF and PGR deny. The documentary was released in May 2024 and produced between 2022 and 2023.
"Daniel Vorcaro did not give a statement with the content reported in the article, nor did he provide the institution with attachments, documents or information with the content described there", says the Federal Police, in a note.
"The proposals for award-winning collaboration that were presented to the PF by the defendant's defense were not accepted due to non-compliance with legal requirements, according to a reasoned decision known to the defense."
The PGR also released a statement late this Friday morning denying the statements. The institution says that negotiations regarding Vorcaro's award-winning collaboration were mediated only by lawyers hired by him.
"All the proposals formalized by the defense were received as freely prepared by it, without judgment or prior refusals. There was no direct dialogue between Vorcaro and any representative of the PGR. There was no oral testimony from Vorcaro, precisely because of the rejection of the proposal, the reasons for which were exposed to the defense", says the PGR.
Vorcaro's defense also released a statement stating that the former banker did not give any statement to the PF or the PGR as part of the plea bargain negotiations.
Lawyers Sergio Leonardo and Engels Augusto Muniz, who signed the text, say they do not confirm the content of the report and repudiate the "disclosure of supposed attachments that would be related to award-winning collaboration negotiations that were not concluded."
"The defense reaffirms that Daniel Vorcaro has very personal and relevant information for the case and remains available to contribute to the authorities", says the defense note.
