PF checks if missing child in Pará is among victims rescued in operation in the USA

The attaché is a federal police officer who lives abroad to act in international affairs, in connection with the country in which he is. There are attachés in the United States, Suriname, countries in Europe and Africa, among others.

According to the PF, the connection with the attaché in the USA aims to establish direct contact with the country's authorities on the matter. The PF office in Washington and the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami are also involved in investigating the case, as the police confirmed to g1.

The mobilization occurs after the family's defense team called the PF to cross-reference the child's data with information about possible victims of child trafficking networks.

José Arthur's family wants to know if he is among children found in the United States during the 'Statewide Shield' operation, carried out between August 17th and 21st. The action rescued 163 babies, children and teenagers in Florida, aged between two months and 17 years.

According to the PF, the corporation asked to check whether José Arthur was among those identified in the USA, despite there being initially no evidence that the boy left Brazil.

José Arthur Sousa Barros disappeared on the night of March 26, in Vila Peruana, a rural area of ​​Eldorado do Carajás, in the southeast of Pará. The boy, who was 1 year and 11 months old at the time, was playing with his cousins ​​in the backyard of the house where he lived with his family when he disappeared.

The investigation, which was in charge of the Eldorado dos Carajás Police Station, was transferred on Thursday (3) to the Marabá Homicide Police Station. According to the Civil Police (PC), the change occurred due to the specialized structure of the unit, which has more resources to continue the investigations.
