The Spanish content creator Alberto Alonso, known on social networks as Aruberuto Makoto, is at the center of a wave of international criticism after several fragments of one of his live shows recorded in Japan went viral on social networks.
The images show the streamer and the cameraman who accompanied him following and recording for several minutes a young Japanese woman who had been left behind by her friends and was walking alone down the street under the influence of alcohol.
The controversy has focused especially on the sexual comments made during the broadcast. Among the phrases spread are proposals to take the young woman to a hotel and other offensive expressions about her appearance and condition. At another point, one of the participants even talks about physically attacking her. The situation has provoked numerous reactions of rejection, especially due to the woman's apparent vulnerability while she was recorded.
Among the phrases that have caused the most rejection are "Well, do you want to fuck her? Do you want to take her to the hotel? This is free," as well as other sexual allusions to the young woman such as "if she's a whore, we'll hire her." At another point during the live show, one of them even stated: “I slammed her against the wall and hit her,” words that have provoked a strong reaction among users who have recovered and shared the video on social networks.
The episode took a turn when the young woman approached another man who was in the area and remained with him. The images do not initially allow us to determine what the relationship between the two was, but various subsequent publications suggested that the woman had sought help to get away from the two Spaniards. The man confronted them and asked them to stop recording and ended up leaving with her.
The controversy increased due to the racist comments directed against this man during the live show, whom they described, among other things, as a “fucking black man.”
Some of the streamers' followers cheered the scene and even ventured that the girl was a prostitute and the man she sought protection from was her supposed pimp. However, more complete videos and context notes added online questioned that interpretation.
The case has also reopened the debate about the limits of live-generated content, especially when it involves recording strangers without their consent in vulnerable situations.
Given the enormous dissemination of the videos, Aruberuto Makoto responded publicly by defending his version of events and arguing that certain fragments had been taken out of context. The creator denied that there had been a sexual assault and later explained different moments of the live show. His explanations, however, have not stopped criticism.
The controversy adds to other criticism previously received by Aruberuto Makoto for harassing women in public spaces and for sexist and offensive content in his broadcasts on digital platforms.
The massive reports have even led Twitch to permanently ban the streamer's channel.
