Police are investigating explicit AI-generated content falsely depicting members of the A.B. Paterson school community, the school has said.

In a letter sent to parents of A.B. Paterson College on Thursday afternoon, principal Joanne Sheehy said the AI content was found in a former secondary teacher's school digital account.

"From the moment the AI-generated material was discovered it was secured, quarantined and access was strictly limited to the minimum required for police and legal purposes," Ms Sheehy wrote.

"All material was handed to Queensland Police in full."

Queensland Police has been contacted for comment.

In October 2025, Ms Sheehy wrote to parents regarding a "serious matter" that resulted in the teacher being immediately dismissed.

"The College acted immediately, decisively and transparently with the authorities from the first moment and has continued to provide its full support to Queensland Police's investigation," Ms Sheehy said in Thursday's letter.

"Queensland Police are in the process of contacting some members of our community as part of their ongoing investigation."

Ms Sheehy said there was no evidence the AI-generated material was shared.

"The College notified all required relevant statutory and regulatory bodies, including the Queensland College of Teachers and the Office of the eSafety Commissioner," she said.

A.B. Paterson is a co-educational private school in Arundel for students from Prep to Year 12.
