Civil Police carry out operation against drug trafficking and homicides in Itaperuna

According to the Civil Police, the operation carries out six search and seizure warrants and four arrest warrants against suspects involved in drug trafficking.

The investigations also investigate cases of victims shot in different neighborhoods of Itaperuna, such as Boa Fortuna, Fiteiro, Surubi and Matinada.

One of the crimes investigated by the operation was recorded by security cameras. The homicide occurred on Rua Marieta Xavier. The images show the suspects arriving at the scene on a motorcycle and shooting at the victim.

Among the cases investigated are two attempted murders: one registered on June 6, on Rua Ernestina Gomes, in the Vinhosa neighborhood, and another on April 20, in Morro do Marca Tempo. According to the Civil Police, the two locations are areas where the Red Command operates.

During the operation, a man was arrested in the act with a 9 mm caliber pistol with an extended magazine, nine rounds of ammunition, R$1,200 in cash and a precision scale. Two people were also taken to the police station to find out who owned the weapon.

In another action, agents seized marijuana and ecstasy, material used to prepare and sell drugs, a precision scale and R$460 in cash.

In the Vinhosa neighborhood, a load of cocaine was seized. The suspects managed to escape. In Morro da Faca, two men were taken to the police station. With them, the police found several labels and inscriptions that refer to the Red Command.
