The Civil Police are investigating a possible case of feminicide in the death of a woman in a residence in the Mangabeira neighborhood, in João Pessoa, this Wednesday (7). The expert's initial hypothesis is that the man attacked the woman and then took his own life. She suffered around 26 stab wounds to her body, according to the expertise carried out at the scene by the Scientific Police Institute (IPC-PB).
The boyfriend was identified as Joeverton Fagner dos Santos, aged 26, and the woman as Ester Fagundes de Almeida, aged 27. According to information from TV Cabo Branco, the bodies were found by Ester's mother inside a room.
In addition to the information about the number of stab wounds, the forensic examination also indicated a physical fight between the couple and injuries compatible with someone who was trying to defend themselves, in the woman's case. A knife used in the crime was found, and forensics indicate that the object is for military use.
"The murder weapon was found, which is a military tactical knife, a type of equipment with a very sharp, very pointed cut and six injuries in the anterior region of her body, there are some defensive injuries on her hands, both on her right arm and on her left hand. She was still reluctant, she tried to leave, but the room was closed, so there were lots of blood stains," said Aldenir Lins, an expert who went to the scene.
The expert also said that the initial stab wounds were six, inflicted on the front of the body. After the woman fell to the ground, the man allegedly stabbed another 20 times in the back.
Furthermore, according to the expert, the man's body has at least five injuries, between the chest region and the neck, which, according to the analysis, was where there was internal bleeding.
One of the wounds may have reached the jugular region, causing intense bleeding. The expert stated that the man died as a result of blood loss.
"It possibly hit the jugular region, so there was a huge hemorrhage. He really died due to blood loss. He moved a little away from her, he stood in the corner of the bed with the gun in his hand", he explained.
It is not yet possible to determine whether the injuries to the man's chest were caused by the woman. The expert stated, however, that the injuries to the neck could have been caused by himself.
According to the expert, if the injuries to the neck had been caused by the woman before the last blows against her, the intense loss of blood could have prevented the man from continuing the fight.
"He was in possession of this knife. So, at least in relation to the injuries he has in the chest region, at this moment it is not possible to say that it was him or her, because there was really an intense physical fight. Now, these last injuries of his, in the cervical region, in the neck, if they had been caused by her before, he would not have been able to inflict another 20 injuries on her", explained the expert.
