Poland defeated Romania 5-0 in the Nations League match, Lewandowski with a hat-trick

The Poles entered the match against Romania at the PGE National Stadium with a miserable balance of only 1 point in two matches of Group 4 of Division B of the Nations League. In the inaugural match of this competition, the White and Reds only drew 0-0 with the participant of the last world championships in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Later, the nightmares from Solna returned, where in March, in dramatic circumstances, Polish players lost the final of the play-offs 2-3, whose stake was participation in the World Cup. Our dreams of playing at the biggest football event in the world were knocked out of our minds by the striker of London Arsenal - Viktor Gyokeres.

However, Jan Urban's players cannot count the September match at the same stadium as a successful rematch. Although the White and Reds were able to take the initiative after losing a goal and equalize, only to return to the game before the break, but as it turned out after the change of sides, it was all we could do that evening. The Swedes pointed out our mistakes and after the last whistle, the "Trzech Korona" players enjoyed a 3-1 victory. Once again, the decisive blow for the hosts' success was delivered by the Gunners' sniper.

On October 2, Romania arrived at the Warsaw Stadium - a team whose statistics were even worse than Poland's after two rounds. Gheorge Hagi's players - former FC Barcelona star - have not yet scored a point in this edition of the Nations League. Due to the very good and, above all, more effective play of the Polish players, the Romanian players will have to wait a little longer for their first point in this competition.

Although after the first three quarters of the match the Poles were leading by one goal, which was scored by the captain of our team - Robert Lewandowski - from a penalty kick, it was only the beginning of the barrage of goals that our players treated to the fans gathered at the National Stadium. Lewandowski increased the score to 2-0 just two minutes after the restart. 120 seconds later, the guests were already losing by three goals - Virgii Ghitta scored his own goal, who unfortunately intervened in the action of Przemysław Frankowski and Nicola Zalewski.

The minutes passed and the Poles did not slow down. Another mistake of the Romanian defense was ruthlessly exploited by Piotr Zieliński, who defeated Hindrich in the 62nd minute of the game. Another blow came from Jan Bednarek, who scored with a shot from the head after a cross from a corner kick in the 66th minute of the match. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick in the 86th minute of the 3rd round of the Nations League match. Unfortunately, the captain of the White and Reds will not play in the next match due to the excess of yellow cards. The rival will be Bosnia and Herzegovina.
