Fire at the unmanned systems plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna: CBŚP takes over the investigation

Shortly after midnight on Monday in the building at ul. A fire broke out at Obuwnicza in Skarżysko-Kamienna. The fire broke out in a warehouse and production hall belonging to a company producing unmanned systems.

RMF FM reporter Krzysztof Zasada learned that internal monitoring had registered a perpetrator wearing a balaclava and carrying a backpack, who was supposed to set a fire in one of the rooms. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that "there is no doubt that there was deliberate arson, i.e. an act of sabotage."

The Central Bureau of Investigation takes over the investigation

Krzysztof Zasada learned that the investigation into the fire in Skarżysko-Kamienna was taken over by the Central Police Investigation Bureau from Świętokrzyskie police officers. Now police officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation will cooperate with officers of the Internal Security Agency in explaining the circumstances of the fire.

There are several reasons for this change, mainly the importance of the case and its nature. The prosecutor's office classified the arson as an act ordered by a foreign intelligence service, as well as an act of terrorism. And it is the police officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation who are competent to deal with terrorism, because they also have greater capabilities.

However, the RMF FM journalist learned that the Świętokrzyskie police officers were not cut off from the investigation. The special team appointed by the provincial commander to cooperate with the CBŚP is still operating. It's mainly about exchanging information.
