Triple murder trial begins in Lower Bavaria

In June 2025, police officers discovered the bodies of two women and a man in an apartment building in Lower Bavaria. The upper body of one of the dead is hidden in the refrigerator. The three residents of the house were suffocated or killed - according to investigators, by a neighbor. The trial against the 38-year-old begins on Thursday (October 1st) in the Deggendorf regional court.

According to a court spokeswoman, the public prosecutor's office is accusing him of triple murder. According to the accusation, the man killed the two women in his apartment in order to satisfy himself sexually. When the second woman's partner looked for her, the defendant is said to have killed him.

The prosecution sees several criteria for murder as being met: insidiousness in all three cases, and in the case of the women also to satisfy the sexual drive. In the second and third cases, cruelty and, in the case of the man, to cover up a crime.

Woman's body dismembered

Investigators assume that the 38-year-old suffocated the first woman in his apartment by choking her by the neck and throttling her with a cable. The suspected motive: sexual gratification. According to the prosecution, the man dismembered the body, put the upper body in the refrigerator and placed the legs in a sports bag in a forest. The man and his neighbor are said to have previously consumed marijuana, medication and alcohol together.

The defendant is also said to have killed the second neighbor to arouse himself. According to the investigation, he hit her on the head with a beer bottle and at least 13 blows with a hammer and wrapped her head with cling film to suffocate the woman. The man is said to have previously taken medication again, among other things, and the woman also belongs to the drug milieu, said the court spokeswoman.

The defendant turned himself in to the police

When the second woman's partner was looking for his partner, the defendant is said to have gone into his unlocked apartment with a hammer and killed the man. A few days later, the man drove to Austria, where he turned himself in to the police.

Ten days of hearings have been scheduled for the proceedings. 34 witnesses and five experts are to be heard. Parents and siblings of the dead are co-plaintiffs. The verdict could come on November 19th.
