Putin: BRICS Plays a Role in Building a Multipolar World Order Based on Fairness

According to the statement made by the Kremlin Palace, Putin attended the Expanded BRICS+ Leaders Summit held in New Delhi, the capital of India.

Speaking here, Putin stated that the international community showed interest in the activities of BRICS and made the following evaluations:

"BRICS has become an important power in the process of strengthening multilateralism in international relations. Our Union plays a role in the process of building a fair multipolar world order. The trade volume between BRICS countries has reached 1.2 trillion dollars. Member countries realize approximately one quarter of the world's exports. 40 percent of the world's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) belongs to BRICS countries."

Putin stated that Russia is taking initiative to establish payment infrastructure, joint insurance mechanism and grain exchange within BRICS.

Emphasizing the need to strengthen the Development Bank within BRICS, Putin shared the information that 123 projects worth approximately 40 billion dollars have been financed through the bank to date.
