Four people injured in a stabbing in Bromley, south-east London

Four people were injured in a multiple stabbing that occurred this afternoon on the outskirts of south-east London, according to media reports citing police and emergency services sources. They were treated at the scene and then taken to hospital. At the moment it is not clear whether it was an episode of common crime or something else.

The episode occurred along the main street (High Street) of Bromley, a suburb on the edge of the metropolitan area of ​​the British capital. One of the first witnesses cited by the BBC, the owner of a betting agency in the area, said he had witnessed a sort of "street fight". Several police patrols intervened on site, cordoning off and temporarily closing the area to traffic - diverting some buses - to conduct investigations.
