Rajasthan Royals lose Dasun Shanaka in a mix-up with Dhruv Jurel. Jurel pushes the ball behind point and initially calls for a quick single, with Shanaka responding immediately. However, Jurel suddenly stops and turns back after taking a few steps, leaving Shanaka stranded halfway down the pitch. Both batters ended up at the striker’s end as the throw came in. Corbin Bosch fumbled at first but recovered in time to break the stumps and catch Shanaka well short.

Allah Ghazanfar picks up another wicket as Riyan Parag’s quick start comes to an end. Parag, who had already hit a six and a four in the over, tried to attack another length ball outside off. The shot looked well-timed, but Tilak Varma was placed unusually straight at long-on near the boundary ropes and completed a fine catch near the ropes to send Parag back.

Deepak Chahar strikes as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s aggressive approach brings about his downfall. The young batter tries to take on a length delivery moving away outside off and looked to clear long-on. However, he failed to middle the shot and instead sliced it towards backward point, where Naman Dhir ran in to complete the catch.

Will Jacks gives Mumbai Indians an important breakthrough as Yashasvi Jaiswal mistimes a shot straight to point. Bowling at 89 kph, Jacks kept the ball on a teasing length outside off and drew Jaiswal into playing from the crease. Instead of clearing the infield, the shot went aerial towards Corbin Bosch, who completed a safe catch.

Yashasvi Jaiswal put Deepak Chahar under pressure in the over with a six and a four. He first picked a slower knuckle ball in the slot and launched it over long-off for a maximum. A couple of balls later, Chahar overpitched again and Jaiswal drove it firmly through deep extra cover for four. Rajasthan Royals kept the scoring rate moving in the early overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a close escape against Will Jacks after missing a sweep shot to a full delivery on middle stump. Mumbai Indians went up in a loud appeal for LBW and decided to review after the on-field umpire turned it down. Ball-tracking showed the delivery was pitching in line and going on to clip the top of middle stump, but the decision stayed with umpire’s call. Jaiswal survived narrowly, while MI managed to keep their review.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi nearly added a six to his tally early in the innings, but Will Jacks pulled off a superb save near the boundary. The RR opener went hard at a full delivery outside off from Deepak Chahar and looked set to clear deep extra cover. However, Jacks timed his jump well, pushed the ball back into play while losing balance, and prevented a six with an excellent effort in the heat. Rajasthan could only take a single.
