Record budget and new rules

This year, WOB reached a record value - as much as PLN 39 million is available for distribution by residents. PLN 24 million was allocated for housing estate projects, and PLN 15 million for supra-housing projects. Each housing estate project can receive up to PLN 1 million, and a supra-housing project can receive up to PLN 3 million.

The city authorities also introduced new voting rules. After last year's irregularities, such as mass voting from one IP address or a suspiciously high share of people aged 90-99, the system was tightened.

This year, voters must confirm their identity, including: through mObywatela, Zaufany Profil or electronic banking. This practically eliminates the possibility of voting using someone else's data, emphasizes the mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk.

What designs can you choose?

There were 106 projects on the voting list, including 56 housing estate projects and 50 supra-housing projects.

Most proposals concern greenery and recreation - as many as 61 projects. These also include initiatives related to pedestrian and bicycle traffic (58), sports (19), roads (8) and playgrounds (8). Residents can also choose from projects related to backyards, public transport or non-investment activities.

WBO gives residents the opportunity to indicate specific changes in their immediate surroundings and in the entire city. This year, we are contributing a record PLN 39 million to their decisions. I encourage you to check the projects before voting and choose those that best meet the needs of the estate, says Magdalena Wdowiak-Urbańczyk, director of the Department of Social Affairs of the Wrocław City Hall.

Who can vote and how?

Voting will last from September 18 to October 12. Any resident of Wrocław can participate in it, regardless of age, nationality or residence. Each person can vote for one housing estate project and one supra-housing project - only once.

The most important change is the obligation to confirm identity. This can be done in three ways:

Online – using mObywatel, Zaufany Profile, electronic banking or e-ID.

Online after stationary verification - people who do not use digital tools can obtain a one-time code at branches of the Municipal Public Library, housing estate council offices or mobile points.

Paper – voting forms will be available at six points of the Wrocław City Hall.
