Rome, the Colosseum reopens after the mourning for the death of the worker Andrea Moretti

The Colosseum reopens to the public after three days of closure due to mourning following the death of Andrea Moretti, the 22-year-old worker who fell from the second ring of the Amphitheater while working on the lighting system, in the night between Monday and Tuesday.

During the night, the signs ordering the closure of the monument were removed and visits resumed from 8.30 in the morning. The Colosseum is completely open to the public, with the exception of the point where the accident occurred: an area of ​​approximately 10 square meters, delimited by barriers. Around 25 thousand visitors are expected.

The decision to reopen the Colosseum to the public was taken yesterday by the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, after a meeting with the employees of the Archaeological Park.
