Russian drone attacks near the Polish-Ukrainian border

A jet-powered drone hit the Ukrainian side about two kilometers from the border crossing with Poland in Dorohusk,” wrote Poland’s Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz on Platform X. The airspace over Poland was therefore not violated.

As the High Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced, an air alert was raised in the region around Lublin in southeastern Poland during Russian air strikes against western Ukraine. This was lifted again after a quarter of an hour.

Poland briefly asked residents of the Lublin region to go to safe places. In view of the Russian attacks on neighboring Ukraine, there is also a risk of an air attack in this region of Poland, said the Polish Government Center for Security. Shortly afterwards it lifted the warning again.

In the past two weeks there have been several Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian territory near the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing Dorohusk-Jahodyn. A passenger train from Kyiv to Warsaw was also attacked there. Poland's government accuses Russia of intensifying the war in Ukraine.
