Ministry of Health: More than 16 million people benefited from Healthy Life Centers

In his statement to the AA correspondent on the occasion of September 3-9 Public Health Week, Erdoğan Öz, General Director of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, stated that studies are being carried out to raise citizens' awareness of preventive health services with a different title every day throughout the week.

Stating that Healthy Life Centers have an important place in preventive health services, Öz said that free consultancy and health services are offered to citizens in many areas in these centers.

Reminding that 93 Healthy Life Centers were opened in the last 2 years, Öz noted that the number of Healthy Life Centers reached 357 and that many services are offered free of charge in the centers.

Stating that approximately 22 million people benefited from these centers last year, Öz said, "More than 16 million people were provided health services in Healthy Life Centers in 8 months from the beginning of 2026." he said.

Counseling on physical activity without smoking cessation

Explaining that consultancy services are also provided in areas such as smoking cessation, nutrition and physical activity in Healthy Life Centers, Öz stated that more than 225 thousand people have been provided free consultancy in smoking cessation clinics since 2024.

Emphasizing that cancer screenings are among the important services carried out in the centers, Öz said, "We have provided early diagnosis and diagnosis services to more than 10 million people in Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Centers." he said.

Counseling for more than 80 thousand people in menopause schools

Öz stated that counseling services were also provided in menopause schools at the Healthy Life Academy (SAHA), and more than 80 thousand people were reached in this context.

Stating that citizens can make an appointment through the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS) to benefit from Healthy Life Centers, Öz said that family physicians can also direct their patients to these centers.

Öz stated that services are offered in 17 different areas of expertise in the centers and that citizens can also make appointments for branches such as dietitians and psychologists.

Support for expectant mothers and fathers

Stating that pregnancy schools also provide services in Healthy Life Centers, Öz stated that expectant mothers and fathers can also benefit from these programs.

Stating that pregnant women are directed to physiotherapists and dieticians if needed, Öz said that dental health services are also offered in the centers.

Öz, General Director of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, emphasized that it is important for citizens to benefit more from preventive health services in terms of detecting diseases at an early stage and acquiring healthy living habits.
