Defense Industry President Görgün watched the final stage of TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition

Presidency Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün watched the 2026 final stage races of the Rocket Competition, organized by ROKETSAN within the scope of TEKNOFEST, in which a total of 73 teams, including 7 teams from 6 countries, participated in the international category.

Görgün, who watched the final stage of the competition at Aksaray Hisar Shooting Range, organized to increase students' interest in space and rocket technologies and develop their competencies in this field, met with the teams and shared their TEKNOFEST excitement.

Görgün told the AA correspondent that 1 million 600 thousand contestants applied to TEKNOFEST competitions this year and that the competitions held in 13 provinces continued with enthusiasm.

Stating that they are organizing the Rocket Competition in Aksaray for the 9th time, Görgün said, "In this competition, where the teams participating in the competition update themselves every year, and where both the senior management of ROKETSAN and our friends who take responsibility support them devotedly, the scope of the competition expands and becomes more difficult every year. With the teams that apply, the teams that participated in previous periods, and the new teams that benefit from those experiences, this place reflects everything you expect from a technology festival in the same way." he said.

Görgün stated that he observed that the teams came to the field more prepared this year than in previous years, and emphasized that the experience gained was reflected in the competitions.

Görgün stated that TEKNOFEST continues to develop, increase its scope and effectiveness, and said, "We are sure that our young people who grow up here will be able to create quick solutions to the needs of tomorrow, not the needs of today. We believe that they will contribute to the independence of our country in every sense, with the self-confidence and opportunities they gain with TEKNOFEST in these fields." made his assessment.

ROKETSAN General Manager Murat Ikinci also wished success to the teams and said, "I hope they will all leave here happily. Your memories here are also the memories of other friends and our number of participants is increasing both internationally and locally." he said.

ROKETSAN Chairman of the Board Faruk Yiğit underlined that they see the organization as an investment in the future.

Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), stated that they, as a foundation, will continue their work in 81 provinces of Türkiye and different geographies of the world and thanked their stakeholders.
