Disembarkation of seven bodies in the port of Bari from the Life Support ship

The disembarkation of the seven bodies from the Emergency Life Support ship, recovered in the Libyan SAR area, has begun in the port of Bari. From what we understand, the Municipality of Bari will take care of the burials. The bodies will be transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where health operations and recognition will begin.

The seven people lost their lives during the Mediterranean crossing. They were in the hold of the ship they were traveling on, where they would have been poisoned by carbon monoxide. Two other people who were in the hold were rescued in critical condition and evacuated to the Sar Maltese area.

The other 48 refugees rescued and assisted by civil protection with the support of cultural mediators are doing well. The registration operations of the 29 minors, entrusted to the Municipality of Bari, have begun.
