Dalian Shipbuilding delivers 307,000-ton crude oil tanker built for Norwegian SEATANKERS

China News Service, Dalian, August 18 (Reporter Yang Yi) The 307,000-ton crude oil tanker "Front Fraser" built by Dalian Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China Shipbuilding Trading for Norwegian SEATANKERS was officially delivered in Dalian, Liaoning on the 18th.

"Front Fraser" is a new generation of very large crude carrier (VLCC) independently developed and designed by Dalian Shipbuilding. It has a total length of about 333 meters, a width of 60 meters, a depth of 30 meters, a deck area of more than 18,000 square meters, and a total painting area of more than 540,000 square meters, which is equivalent to the area of 76 standard football fields. It is a veritable "Big Mac".

The ship has good port and channel applicability. With a design draft of 20.5 meters, it can carry more than 2 million barrels of crude oil and pass freely through the Strait of Malacca. The ship implements the design concept of "green, environmental protection and energy saving" and installs an exhaust gas desulfurization device, which can save approximately 35 million yuan in fuel costs every year.

At the same time, during the construction process of the ship, through the optimization of hull lines, improvement of energy-saving devices, and the innovative installation of six-cylinder main engines, the comprehensive energy-saving effect and environmental protection level have been significantly improved. The nitrogen oxide emissions of ship pollutants meet the highest requirements of international conventions (Tier III), as well as the most advanced Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI Phase III) requirements, and the performance indicators have reached first-class levels.

Wang Rongtao, project manager of CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding, said that during the trial, with the close cooperation of the shipowner, ship inspector and all sailing personnel, it only took 8 days to complete all the test content. All inspection items passed at one time. The main technical indicators such as speed and fuel consumption were better than the contract and specification requirements, and the ship was delivered 43 days ahead of the contract period.
