Zelensky's plane almost hit by drone on route to Oslo

According to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, the aircraft of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy narrowly avoided being hit by a drone while en route to Oslo. The incident occurred early Tuesday evening as Zelenskyy traveled from Moldova to the Norwegian capital to attend the funeral services for the late King Harald V. “This is the reality in which he finds himself,” Støre said, according to broadcaster NRK.

Ukrainian authorities and Zelenskyy himself have not yet commented on the incident, and Støre provided no further details. According to reports, Støre stated that during a meeting on Wednesday morning, Zelenskyy told him he had not slept well, describing it as a “dramatic situation.” The Ukrainian president had been on the phone, receiving news of rocket strikes in his home country.

According to the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a Russian drone flew in Moldovan and Romanian airspace for about an hour on Tuesday. The defense ministries of Moldova and Romania reported, as cited by the ISW, that a Shahed drone entered Moldovan airspace from Ukraine, flew into Romania, and then returned to Moldova before crashing there. It remains unclear whether this was the drone mentioned by Støre.
