From the valorisation of local crops to social inclusion, the interventions envisaged by the Agricultural Civil Service affect numerous aspects of the rural world. The initiatives include those promoted by Arci Servizio Civile, which proposes Terra che Cresce 2027, with 40 positions, and Terra che Cura 2027, with a further 10 positions. The Galdus social cooperative participates with two courses aimed at supporting agricultural businesses: Rights in the field, for which 40 volunteers are required in the Central-Southern territories, and Tradition that innovates, with 52 places in the Central-North.
There are also food education activities, community assistance and recovery of agricultural traditions. The Christian Workers Movement presents Agrisocial 2026, with 22 positions, and Whoever sows, reaps 2026, with 16. There are 27 positions foreseen by Opes for Cultivating the present to nourish the future, to which 20 are added for Eating well, living better. The Promozione Italia association proposes DiO BIO: Let's learn from the Earth and Knowledge and Flavors, both with 50 places available.
Part of the agricultural activities concerns the protection of natural resources and the revitalization of rural areas. In Calabria, the Futura association has included the Custodi della Terra project in the Radici e Futuro program, dedicated to mapping biodiversity and recovering ancient crops, with 28 volunteers. The same organization belongs to Seminare Comunità, which has 8 positions and addresses issues related to rural education, inclusion and sustainable regeneration.
Other initiatives focus on agriculture as a tool for participation and integration. These include Seeds of inclusion, with 18 places, and Roots of Community, with 6, included in the Parsifal Consortium program. Interventions are also planned to support small businesses, promote sustainable nutrition and conserve the local agricultural heritage.
The largest component of the tender is that reserved for the protection of ecosystems and sustainable development. Among the entities involved is Focsiv, which coordinates various routes in collaboration with the WWF Oases. Managing protected areas to safeguard the future provides 7 places, while Green Guardians, dedicated to biodiversity in natural reserves and Sicilian WWF Oases, provides 4. Another 6 volunteers will be involved in Semi di Futuro, again in the context of safeguarding the Oases.
Arci Servizi Civile also presents From environmental education to sustainable development: aware communities 2027, with 78 positions, and a second intervention on sustainable models of environmental protection and social inclusion, with 15 positions. The Agorà Agency instead proposes Sustainable Growth, for 45 volunteers, and Responsible Territories, which requires 55.
Environmental initiatives also involve local administrations and organizations involved in land management. The Amesci Foundation proposes Knowing to Prevent, dedicated to environmental monitoring, with 20 positions, and Friendly Fire: Let's Protect the Green for the Future, with 28. The same program includes Green Start, with 15 positions, and Green Sentinels, with 25.
As regards local authorities, ANCI Lombardia participates with green civil service interventions intended for different areas of the country: 20 places for the Northern territories and 18 for those of the Central-Southern ones. The Municipality of Modena instead promotes Green Shift, with 6 volunteers. Other activities include sustainability education projects, defense of biodiversity, inclusive mobility and enhancement of parks and natural spaces.
The Digital Civil Service focuses its activities on overcoming difficulties in accessing new technologies and strengthening citizens' IT skills. Arci Servizi Civile has included two initiatives in the Digital Bridges for Social Networks 2027 program: Building common digital languages, with 48 places, and Digital education for connected citizens, with 19.
Various opportunities concern the relationship between citizens and public administration. The Municipality of Florence proposes CiviByte Firenze 2026, with 6 volunteers assigned to a project to facilitate the use of municipal services. In Turin, however, 12 places are foreseen for CTRL+ALT+HOME: Restarting neighborhoods, connecting people. ANCI Lombardia is making available another 5 positions in the Digital Municipalities initiative in the Metropolitan City of Milan and in the province of Monza Brianza 2026.
The digital program also includes initiatives to accompany people in the use of technological tools, with particular attention to those who encounter greater obstacles in accessing services. In Palermo, Enaip promotes Digital Educators at the counter, with 20 places, and Digital Facilitators in the area, with 15. The Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired participates with Sesto Senso and Tatto Digitale, which provide 23 and 22 volunteers respectively.
Digitalisation also affects the healthcare system. The provincial health authority of Ragusa proposes ASP digital citizen, with 16 positions, and a second digital education project with 4 positions. In Gallipoli, assistance activities are planned for access to the electronic identity card, public services and welfare benefits, through two projects which will involve a total of 22 volunteers.
A more limited quota of places concerns the ordinary universal civil service financed directly by the institutions. In this area, there are 8 opportunities available, distributed between two initiatives of the Amesci Foundation.
The first, called Libera di essere, belongs to the D(i)ritti program at point - III and involves the participation of 4 volunteers. The second, Ville di Parthenope: the silent charm of history, is part of the A heritage of all - III program and offers 4 other positions, with a route linked to the historical and cultural heritage.
To participate in the Civil Service it is necessary to send the application by 2pm on Friday 6 November 2026, using exclusively the Question on Line (DOL) platform, available at questiononline.serviziocivile.it and accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. To complete the procedure, Italian citizens residing in Italy or abroad must authenticate via SPID or Electronic Identity Card (CIE), both with security level 2. SPID credentials can be requested through authorized managers, following the instructions published on the Agency for Digital Italy portal. Alternative access methods are provided for citizens of the European Union and non-European countries regularly residing in Italy who do not have the possibility of obtaining SPID. In these cases, interested parties can request specific credentials from the competent Department to use the DOL platform, following the instructions available on the home page of the online service, before proceeding with completing the application.
