Shivon Zilis confirms separation from Elon Musk and comments on X

The relationship between Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis is apparently over. The 40-year-old, who has four children with the tech billionaire, spoke in detail on his platform X on Friday. The end of the relationship came as a surprise to her.

"It's hard to go from 'being in love' to 'letting go' in a week and without any warning, but sometimes that's just how it is," Zilis wrote. She is still happy to have shown Musk what it feels like to be deeply understood, cared for and consistently loved.

Looking at Musk's childhood and his life, she wanted to give him the "deepest and most stable form of love" that was possible. She hopes that this will have a lasting positive effect on him.

"We were always his safe haven"

Zilis also described in detail what role she and their children played in Musk's life according to her portrayal. “We were always his safe haven,” she wrote. The shared home was a place where everyone was happy about his return and where “happiness and love” prevailed instead of conflict.

She loved Musk more than her own life. At the same time, he gave her knowledge for “100 lives” and gave her own life a lot of meaning. The loss is now correspondingly great. At the same time, Zilis expressed gratitude for their four children, whom she described as the great love of her life.

In the future, she hopes to remain on friendly terms with Musk and share responsibility for the children. "I hope and pray that he and I can be great friends and parents," she wrote.

Musk no longer follows Zilis on X

Zilis' public statements were apparently triggered by a message from the X account "Big Tech Alert". The account, which documents changes in the following of prominent technology entrepreneurs, reported that Musk Zilis is no longer following X.

Zilis picked up on this message and published her detailed explanation of the relationship underneath. Musk himself initially did not publicly comment on the separation.

Despite the pain she described, Zilis ended her message with conciliatory words. She continues to care deeply about Musk and will continue to wish him luck in the future.

"God bless Elon. The world is lucky to have you," Zilis wrote.

Zilis met Musk at OpenAI in 2016 and later worked for Tesla and Neuralink, among others. Their twins Strider and Azure were born in 2021. Daughter Arcadia was born in 2024. In 2025, Zilis and Musk made it public that they had another son together named Seldon Lycurgus.

Musk also has three children with Canadian musician Grimes. He also has a child with influencer Ashley St. Clair.
