Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Arrested Bayram Özbek in Kaşif Kozinoğlu Death Investigation

Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that former police chief Bayram Özbek, who was found to be involved in the "Valley of the Wolves" scenario, was arrested within the scope of the restarted investigation into the death of former National Intelligence Organization (MİT) officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu.

In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the following was noted:

"Within the scope of the investigation carried out by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the murder of Kaşif Kozinoğlu, the suspect Bayram Özbek, who was found to be involved in the script of the TV series 'Valley of the Wolves' in relation to the incident, was arrested by the decision of the Silivri Criminal Judgeship of Peace, on the charges of 'establishing or leading an armed terrorist organization' and 'instigating deliberate murder'."

In the case filed on the grounds that the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) conspired against the "Tahşiyeciler group", the 12-year prison sentence given to former police chief Bayram Özbek for "being a member of an armed terrorist organization" was approved by the Supreme Court in 2021.

ACTOR SEDAT SAVTAK, WHO PLAYS KOZİNOĞLU, STATED

Within the scope of the re-investigation into the death of former MİT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu, who died in Silivri Prison in 2011, actor Sedat Savtak, who played the character of 'Kazım Kaşifoğlu', who was claimed to be inspired by Kozinoğlu in the TV series 'Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu', testified as 'informed'.

Savtak, whose statement at Silivri Courthouse lasted approximately 2 hours, also made statements to members of the press.

Actor Sedat Savtak said, "First of all, as an actor, with the honest approach of an actor in any role, be it in cinema, TV series or theatre, of course I came to this series, Valley of the Wolves, with all my strength and heart, with all my experience, with what I learned, I portrayed these characters with hundreds and thousands of other actors, many of them my friends, my elders and my younger ones, with the same thoughts. We all gave the best acting we could. My esteemed prosecutor asked the necessary questions, of course, and I gave the necessary answers. My meeting with him will definitely remain with him. I didn't know that such a character, at the beginning of the contract, we do not receive information about the content or development of the role. These are issues that will develop with the public's viewing. How much is not, how much is real or not. First of all, we have a contract and we have to do what this contract requires. "Like Emin Abi, I was also asked questions about the series, and I answered all of them with all my sincerity," he said.

When Savtak was asked whether he had any doubts about the script, the scriptwriters or the producer at that time, he replied, "No, I do not have such an observation. My information, whatever is written in the script given to me, will come as it should and how I need to convey it, I evaluated it with my acting as it was presented on the set. Such information is not given to us. Is it from an imagination or from where? It is good, our people evaluated it very well."
