Sira Rego estimates that there are 2,100 migrant minors in Ceuta and requests their transfer to the Peninsula

The Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Rego, estimated this Saturday at around 2,100 affiliated migrant children who remain in Ceuta, including 700 girls, and has requested their transfer to the Peninsula to alleviate the situation faced by the autonomous city.

Rego has also warned that "there are still children to enroll and to incorporate into the system", so to the extent that boys and girls can be "transferred to the Peninsula" it will go "much faster."

In addition, files are also being initiated for children "who have expressed that they want to return to their families" to Morocco and who will be sent "urgently", although it is a procedure that "takes time", since it must be "verified that there is a family structure".

And although Spain does not usually "pose any type of problems if the situation" of these families in the country of origin is proven, the minister recalled that until July 30 there were a "large number of return files for family reunification in Morocco that had not received a response."

In statements to journalists in Córdoba, before participating in a meeting of the Provincial Coordinator of IU, the minister has appealed to the "responsibility" of the autonomous communities and has made an appeal to the PP, since this is what the situation in Ceuta requires, "beyond slander, elements of hate agitation, confrontation and rupture of the democratic consensus."
