Sofia Raffaeli, Vice World Hoop Champion in Artistic Gymnastics

Sofia Raffaeli became vice world champion in hoop in artistic gymnastics. The Italian gymnast at the 'Festhalle' in Frankfurt in Germany scored 30,500 points, preceded by the Ukrainian Taisiia Onofriichuk (30,700). Bronze to the German Daria Varfolomeev (30.400). Only two days ago Raffaeli, 22 years old, bearer of the Fiamme Oro nicknamed 'Vulcano di Chiaravalle', had won the bronze medal in the all-around, becoming the first Italian athlete to obtain the pass - it is initially assigned to the national Olympic committee and not to the athlete - for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The Italian gymnast thus ensured participation in the next Olympic Games, a historic result for Italian artistic gymnastics.
