Collapse at Soma İmbat mine: 5 workers lost their lives, 2 were injured

Search and rescue efforts initiated after the collapse that occurred today at the İmbat mining enterprise operating in Soma district have been completed.

5 WORKERS LOST THEIR LIVES, 2 WORKERS WERE INJURED

After Halit Ersay's body was found before, Kerim Ören's dead body was also found. According to İHA's news, while the dead bodies of other workers Ramazan İnce, İsa Olcay and Ömer Karakaya, who were under the rubble, were found after the work continued until the morning hours, 2 workers were injured in the accident and 5 workers lost their lives.

STATEMENT FROM MANİSA GOVERNORSHIP

In the statement made by Manisa Governorship, it was said, "The search and rescue efforts carried out in the mine collapse that occurred in our Soma district have been completed, and our 3 mine workers who were trapped under the collapse and lost their lives were reached. May God have mercy on our mine workers who lost their lives, and we offer our condolences and patience to their grieving families and colleagues."

MINISTER MEMİŞOĞLU: THE GENERAL CONDITION OF OUR 2 RESCUE CITIZENS IS GOOD

In his post on his social media account, Minister Memişoğlu expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery to the citizens and their families who were affected by the collapse in the mine in Soma district of Manisa.

Memişoğlu said:

"Unfortunately, 1 of our citizens lost their lives in the collapse. I wish God's mercy on our citizen who lost his life, and I offer my condolences to his grieving family and relatives. The 2 citizens who were rescued from the collapse are continuing their treatment in our hospital and their general condition is good. Our teams are on alert in the region and are following the process closely. May God protect our country and nation from all kinds of accidents and disasters."
