Breaking News... New statement from Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu: He called on the government and reacted to Kılıçdaroğlu

Following the police raid on Halk TV in the morning and the appointment of a trustee to the channel, the first statement came from Halk TV Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cafer Mahiroğlu.

Mahiroğlu, who published a video on his social media account, described the events as an intervention against the public's right to receive information. Stating that the channel employees were not allowed into the building and could not control the broadcasts, Mahiroğlu said that they would take Halk TV back.

Arguing that it was a dark day for Türkiye, Mahiroğlu used the following statements in his statement:

"Hello, dear Turkish people and dear Halk TV viewers. Today is a dark day for Turkey, people's right to receive news is being blocked for political reasons. In the morning, the police came to the door of Halk TV. The workers of Türkiye's most watched channel were not allowed in. We cannot control our broadcasts right now.

First of all, Halk TV is ours, Halk TV is yours. We will get our channel back, but we will definitely get it. Supporting Halk TV means supporting the struggle for democracy in Türkiye, and no power will deter us from this. I call on the government to reverse this wrong step, don't do it, don't do it. Türkiye does not deserve this evil.

A second issue is that all the allegations made against me based on MASAK reports are unfounded. Using the judiciary as a weapon is the greatest harm done to Türkiye. I want Türkiye to know that; This attack was not only directed at me. They detained all seven of my family members. What bothered me the most was this: They went to my 70-year-old brother's house in Gürün district of Sivas and detained him.

"I CANNOT MENTION KILIÇDAROĞLU"

Another issue is that I cannot not mention Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. He came out 3 days ago and fired today's flare, just like he did before.
