Suspect of articulating death of father, teenager and two others die after confrontation with police in MS

Three suspected members of Comando Vermelho (CV), including a teenager being investigated on suspicion of involvement in the death of her own father, died after a confrontation with civil police officers this Thursday morning (15), in Nova Andradina, in the southeast of Mato Grosso do Sul.

According to the Civil Police, the three were armed and pointed their weapons at the officers while carrying out a search and seizure warrant. They were shot, rescued and taken to the hospital, but did not survive their injuries.

The action took place during operation Descarrilho, which investigates the activities of a criminal organization and the possible participation of members of Comando Vermelho in two homicides recorded in Batayporã, on September 29th and October 5th.

In total, the operation involves the execution of six arrest warrants and 16 search and seizure warrants in the municipalities of Batayporã, Nova Andradina and Bataguassu. The Civil Police did not say how many arrests have been made so far.

According to the investigation, the teenager killed during the action is suspected of participating in the murder of her own father, Gilson Santana dos Santos, which occurred on September 29 of this year.

The police are also investigating whether she exerted influence on the decisions of the criminal group that operates in the region.

The other two dead only had their nicknames released, such as Tio Baby and Juquinha.

According to police investigations, suspects involved in the homicides were hiding in the house occupied by the teenager, in Nova Andradina. The police also suspected that the property stored weapons and a motorcycle that could have been used in the crimes.

The team from the Special Action Group for the Repression of Organized Crime (Garras) arrived at the property, on Rua Batayporã, in the São Vicente de Paulo neighborhood, at around 6 am, to execute a court order.

According to police records, Uncle Baby had a 9mm pistol. According to the police, he was ordered to drop the weapon, but he did not comply and pointed the weapon in the direction of the agents. The police then reacted.

While entering the other rooms of the house, the agents found Juquinha and the teenager in one of the bedrooms, also with firearms. According to the incident, the two pointed their weapons at the police, who fired again.

All three were hit. After the confrontation, the police found that they still had vital signs, provided assistance and took them to the hospital. Despite care, they died.

The Scientific Police were called to carry out an investigation at the scene and help clarify the circumstances of the incident.

During the operation, police seized three firearms: a Taurus G2C pistol, caliber 9 mm; a Smith & Wesson revolver, .32 caliber; and a Taurus revolver, caliber .38.

22 pieces of ammunition were also collected, including one detonated, and a motorcycle.

According to the investigation, the motorcycle may have been used in the murder of Gilson Santana dos Santos. The vehicle will be analyzed as part of the investigation.

Operation Descarrilho seeks to clarify the murders of Gilson Santana dos Santos, on September 29, and Natalício Rodrigues dos Santos, known as Pebinha, on October 5, both in Batayporã.

The Civil Police are investigating whether the crimes were committed by members of the Red Command and are trying to identify who carried out the murders, who participated in the planning and who may have ordered the deaths.

The action involves teams from different Civil Police units, including Garras, the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Drug Trafficking (Denar), the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Border Crimes (Defron) and investigation teams from Nova Andradina and Bataguassu. Military police and an air support team also participate.

The investigations continue, and the police are still investigating the involvement of each suspect in the homicides.
