Suspect of recruiting criminals involved in the invasion of Vila Brasília is arrested in Volta Redonda

Preliminary information from the police indicated that the action carried out on Tuesday morning included the work of security forces and search teams in the neighborhood.

Also according to the city hall, two pistols and a flame arrester device were seized. The incident is ongoing and new information may be released after the police procedures are completed.

City Hall said in a statement that security forces are carrying out operations to identify and locate others involved in the episodes of violence recorded in the region.

The criminals' action took place on Sunday morning (25), the day of the second round of elections. Those involved with a criminal faction from outside the municipality tried to take control of drug sales points in the Vila Brasília Complex and clashed with teams from the Tactical Support Group (GAT) of the 28th PM Battalion.

The confrontation ended with two suspects dead, two others injured and a bus set on fire that destroyed the public network wiring, interrupting the internet and telephone supply in the locality and in the neighboring neighborhoods of Vale Verde, Fazendinha and Belo Horizonte.

Faced with the attack, the Military Police occupied the region with more than 40 agents and reinforcements from elite troops from the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE) and the Dog Action Battalion (BAC).
