Two lieutenant colonels died in the Air Force T-34C trainer plane crash. Prosecutors now conduct autopsies to clarify the cause of death.

An Air Force T-34C trainer aircraft crashed yesterday, killing two lieutenant colonel pilots Lu Jiyou and Guo Junnan. The Qiaotou District Procuratorate will conduct an autopsy this afternoon to clarify the real cause of death. As for the cause of the trainer aircraft crash, the military is responsible for the investigation.

According to a military investigation, the crashed trainer aircraft took off from Runway 36L of the Okayama Air Force Base in Gao City at 7:47 am yesterday. Lieutenant Colonel Guo Junnan served as the assessment officer, and the annual test was conducted for the lieutenant colonel instructor Lu Jiyou. On the fifth flight, the "simulated engine failure on the takeoff and landing route" was performed. At 8:08 am, it crashed at the north end of the runway and caught fire. The two crew members were unable to escape in time, and died in the aircraft cabin.

The prosecutor inspected the scene yesterday and conducted a preliminary examination. The crashed trainer aircraft was broken into several pieces. The two people were severely hit and burned. The body was in pieces. It was sad. The prosecutor relied on his name tag to identify the person. The body parts were collected at the scene and will be identified by DNA. The prosecutor will conduct a re-examination at the Kaohsiung Municipal Funeral Home at 1:30 this afternoon to clarify the fatal injuries of the two people and confirm the true cause of death.

As for the crashed trainer aircraft, the two pilots did not report the aircraft malfunction before the accident. The military determined that there should be no problem with the engine, but it crashed nose down when turning right.
