Tainan Mayor Promotes Premium Mangoes in Taipei, Eyes Japanese Market

The Tainan City Government held a promotion event at Dayeh Takashimaya today for the launch of "Tainan Champagne Mangoes" and the export of Irwin Mangoes to Japan. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che transformed into the best spokesperson, enthusiastically recommending top-quality mangoes from Tainan to Taipei consumers, and hoping to share the renowned sweet and fresh taste of Tainan with more people.

Tainan is an important mango-producing area nationwide. Among them, Irwin mangoes are known at home and abroad for their rich aroma, delicate texture, and high sweetness. The launched Yuying premium Irwin "Champagne Mangoes" and pre-order activities can be delivered to Taiwan's main island, and some products are also available for export and delivery to Japan, allowing Japanese consumers to taste the fresh and delicious flavors from Tainan.

Huang Wei-che stated that mango production has increased this year. In addition to continuing to cultivate major export markets such as Japan and South Korea, the city government is also actively expanding high-end consumer channels in Southeast Asia, such as Singapore, to diversify market risks.

The Tainan City Government has joined hands with the Yuying Lianxing Fruit Production Cooperative and Dayeh Takashimaya to set up counters at Mia C'bon to sell Tainan mangoes. Some products are available for export and delivery to Japan. Simultaneously, a new brand "Champagne Mango" has been launched, which strictly selects high-quality Irwin mangoes. It emphasizes similar chalk soil conditions to the Champagne region of France, combined with the unique sunshine and climate environment of the Yuying area. Through a cultivation management method of "one stalk, one fruit," it creates a flavor with a delicate aroma and rich layers, showcasing a new image of high-end Taiwanese mangoes.

Li Fang-lin, Director of Tainan's Agriculture Bureau, stated that due to stable weather this year, mango production has increased. The city government will expand domestic and international sales through various channels such as the Tainan International Mango Festival, department store sales, e-commerce platforms, and channel cooperation. In conjunction with the incentive programs for exports and frozen fruit promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, it will help stabilize production and sales order and increase farmers' income.
