國科會轄下國家災害防救科技中心（災防科技中心，NCDR）14日在美國夏威夷檀香山，與美國太平洋防災中心（PDC）正式續簽合作備忘錄（MOU），持續深化台美在防災科技、災害預警與風險治理領域的實質合作。
國科會表示，長期推動防災科技研究與實務應用，並透過國際合作強化台灣面對氣候變遷、複合型災害與跨境風險的防災韌性。這次台美災防MOU，由我方災防科技中心主任陳宏宇與美方PDC執行長Ray Shirkhodai代表簽署。

國科會指出，PDC由美國夏威夷大學管理營運，長期運用災害風險科學、地理資訊與決策支援工具，協助全球提升早期預警與應變能力，其研發的「DisasterAWARE」平台，能提供近即時、AI強化的多災種災害資訊與智慧警示服務，是國際人道救援與應變決策的重要支援系統。
災防科技中心表示，中心與PDC為長期關鍵合作夥伴，雙方自2008年建立正式合作關係後，在2014年及2021年續簽，今年已是第4度簽署合作文件。過去18年來，雙方在太平洋區域防災研究、國際防災培訓及災害管理技術交流等面向維持密切合作，成效斐然。未來雙方將深化在複合型災害早期預警、風險與脆弱度評估、資訊科技與決策支援、國際防災能力建構等4大核心領域的合作。
