Tajani condemns the attack on Siracusano: photo modified to ridicule the opponent

The attack on Matilde Siracusano is vulgar and unacceptable and demonstrates the lack of political content on the part of those who devised it. Retouching a photo to try to ridicule your political opponent is dishonorable for those who preach respect for the rules. It is the classic example of the moralist without morals. Deputy Prime Minister and FI secretary Antonio Tajani wrote it in X. The reference is a photo published yesterday by Vannacci on his Facebook profile for the electoral campaign in Calabria for the by-elections in which the blue undersecretary also appears with a plunging neckline.

Siracusano told corriere.it that "the original photo was taken" from his personal Instagram profile and modified. "The fact that a former general, who talks so much about honor and values, finds himself forced to modify a photo of a woman with software says a lot about the person he is. I also find this fixation on women a bit excessive, what does Vannacci want to prove?".

The intention of the undersecretary is to complain: "I have broad shoulders, but it is a crime and women must be protected", on a political level "undressing a woman as an electoral campaign tool, with a clear denigrating intent just because I am the companion of the President of the Region, is a perverse and squalid choice which has no meaning: I have never run for office and will never run for Reggio Calabria so this attack has no reason to exist".

"To those who accuse me, without any concreteness, of having modified a photo with AI, I reply to research better and to direct the accusations, if necessary, to those responsible....When there are no arguments, the attacks become personal....Go ahead and deal with necklines...". So on Facebook Roberto Vannacci posted the link to a Calabrian blog where there is a photo of Matilde Siracusano, which he had previously relaunched, which caused controversy.
