AK Party Şanlıurfa Deputy Bekir Bozdağ resigned from his post as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly due to health problems.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at the AK Party Congress Center with AK Party Deputies at the Legislative Year Opening Meeting, announced that Bozdağ's duty will be taken over by AK Party Tokat Deputy Yusuf Beyazıt.

Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to Bozdağ for continuing his duty as the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, despite his health problems.

In his statements, Erdoğan said:

"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my colleague Bekir Bozdağ, who has carried out his duty as the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly with great sacrifice for about 3.5 years, despite his health problems. I also wish success to our Tokat Deputy Yusuf Beyazıt, who will take over the duty of the Deputy Speaker."

WHO IS YUSUF BEYAZIT?

Yusuf Beyazıt graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law and Erciyes University Faculty of Theology. He completed his master's degree at TODAİE.

Istanbul Municipality, Real Estate and Expropriation Department, Legal Consultancy; He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Prime Ministry General Directorate of Foundations, Vakıflar Bankası, Güneş Sigorta and Vakıf Emeklilik.

He was elected as Tokat Deputy in the 26th and 27th terms. He served as the Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Founding Chairman of the Türkiye-Iran Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in the 26th Term. In the 27th Term, he served as Chairman of the AK PARTY Group Disciplinary Board, Chairman of the Türkiye-Denmark Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and Chairman of the Constitutional Commission. He is the Chairman of the Constitutional Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Beyazıt, who speaks fluent English and Arabic, is married and the father of three children.
